I have just purchased a 440 Express that has vacuflush heads. I boat in Canadian waters so do not have to keep seacock closed. I am hearing conflicting advise about whether the system will work with the seacocks open. Some have told me that if they are open, the salt water will suck in when the toilet is flushed. But the seacock is in an area of the stern that is impossible to access when the engines are warm. Is it ok to leave the seacocks open?

Yes. The system design is such that the waste pump has duck bill valves that prevent a back flow from the waste outlet. Look at your holding tanks and find the ball valves right outside of the outlet. They should remain closed unless you are pumping the tanks overboard.
