I've searched the forum for a solution but I don't see this exact issue so....
I winterized the system according to instructions last fall. I drained the water tank and ran anti freeze through the system.
The hot water heater has a bypass valve which was employed and the heater drained.
I filled the tank this spring and when I ran cold water to the galley and head, the water is fizzy (full of air) and the pressure seems about 1/2 of what it should be. The pump runs but sounds a little more high pitched than normal. This was happening before I switched off the hot water bypass.
Then I undid the hot water bypass. The pump ran for about 5 seconds. I guess it doesn't fill the tank.
The hot water has very poor pressure. Pretty much a trickle and full of air. When running just hot water to the galley and head, the pump comes on every 15 seconds or so (does not run constantly as normal).
Here's what's weird: The cockpit washdown runs at full pressure with no bubbles. (I did not try the transom washdown.
I've tried running the water for about 30 minutes at a time to see if the air will be purged. No luck. I think I've gone through about 1/3 a tank of water.
Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot/resolve?
Thanks for your help
