Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between a 2007 & 2008 260 Sundeck?

Not enough to mater. Seems to me there was some extra options on the 2008.

Thanks Chuck....I'm about ready to pull the trigger on my first boat...2007 Sea Ray 260..new!!!

Nice boat. You should be able to get a sweet deal on a new '07...especially 3 days before Christmas. Post some pics when you get it.

Cool, and like "Tonka Boater" said you should be getting a sweet deal. What is the dealer doing? What options does it have?

The 2007 model may have the high back captain/co-pilot bucket seats w/o armrests. Whereas the '08s will have the low back seats with armrests. The 260SD is a nice boat.

2007 Sundeck 260 w/350 mag mpi dts bravo 3, 2 bucket seats w/flip up thigh rise, pump out head, dual batteries, fire suppression system, cockpit & bow covers, two tone cinnabar w/black canvas.....for $45,000......what do you guys think??? My research tells me this is a good deal.

Good deal...that's less than I paid for my former '08 240SD.

Great...thanks guys for your advice. I look forward to my first Sea Ray!!!! My kids will have a lot of fun this summer.

That's a good deal. For comparison, my 05 240SD had the same options (except dts), sticker was about $54,000 and we paid $43,000. That was in 2004.

I paid about $55k for a loaded 2008 240SD last spring (including taxes and extended warranty) and its wholesale trade value a couple of months ago was still +$40k (no credit for the taxes, etc). Sounds like a great boat, well appointed, and you are buying on the way low end of the spectrum (with dealer services). Post pics.

Thanks for your response. Is there anything else I should be asking for from the dealer before I move forward? (i.e. include dock lines, bumpers etc.) or is that stuff expected? Also, is it reasonable for me to ask them to throw in a GPS unit? I don't want to seem to greedy as I believe I'm getting a good deal.

MarineMax makes a pretty big deal out of including complete packages...and training. For us, the package was very comprehensive. It did not include extra electronics (they were pretty decisive about that being a customer paid add on, but things like flare guns and bumpers and ropes were all included.

You'll love the 260SD! It's a great day boat and you'll be amazed at the amount of storage and "people" room on this boat. It's also a really easy boat to maitain as access to most everything you need to get to for routine maintenance is convenient. I won't say that it's SeaRay's most beautiful boat, but the performance speaks for itself. Equipped with the Bravo III outdrive, it's like having a boat with four wheel drive in regards to handling. You didn't mention how you intend to store the boat, but extra care is required for the Bravo III outdrive due to potential corrision issues. Enjoy your new boat and welcome to the 260 Sundeck owners club!

Thanks HokiesFan,

I will be storing the boat in a dry dock and will be using mostly in a river for day trips with the family. I'm glad to hear you like the boat as I've stated, this is my first boat and hope I'm making the right decision!!!!

IMHO - You can't go wrong with the 260SD. It was Sea Rays replacement for the 240SD which they say was one of Sea Rays best selling boats. If you look at the specs between the 240 & 260 you will notice they are about the same. One reason I heard they came out with the 260 while the 240 was still in production was because the would not allow the biggest engine to go into the 240, but the would put it in the 260???

Tallmans,
If you get a chance do a search on the 240SD you will find some good info that will work for you too.

Where are going to be using the boat? You mention River.
What dealer are you working with?
We have bought from Clark's Landing and been happy with that choice.

We are in Edgewater and love our 240 Sundeck and can run the Bay except in bad weather.

I am buying the boat from Clark's Landing too. I plan on keeping the boat at Indian Landing marina on the Severn river. Where do you keep your boat? Have you been happy with your 240SD?

You can't go wrong with the 260 Sundeck. It is a solid boat. I loved my 240SD when I had it and still miss it. I would not hesitate to buy either another 240SD or a 260SD in the future.

The only thing I want to make sure you are aware of is Sea Ray has changed the 260SD for 2010. http://www.searay.com/Page.aspx/pageId/10232/pmid/171171/260-Sundeck.aspx This may not make any difference in your final decision but some of these changes are significant such as the rearward facing seat on the transom.
