Sea ray 200 select carpets

Hi All,

My first post and second Sea Ray, I have just purchased a 2004 200 Select, 100 hours, looks like new, however, the carpets have either been stored wet or just neglected. The black backing on the carpets in areas is breaking away, leaving small small black peices, the question is can they be re-backed, or is this a normal problem.

There are numerous threads on the site about repairing and/or replacing carpet when the backing goes away - usaully long before the carpet does. I repaired several areas on my 200 Select this season just to see how I would like it. I used black PlastiDip from Home Depot - I just painted it on after I wire brushed the loose areas away - and have been very pleased with the results so far.
