I'm shopping around to get the best price for insurance on my 2007 Sea Ray 185 Sport. Curious to see what others are paying for this boat. I am 26 years old with a good driving record.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the feedback. I was quoted anywhere from $320 to $550 per year. Guess I will wait for a few more responses to come in. Keep them coming. I sure wish buying car insurance was as cheap as boat insurance.

Thanks

Welcome aboard.

Give NBOA a call. (www.nboat.com) I couldn't find anyone who could come within $100 of these guys. They have great rates for newer, smaller boats. Probably worth a look.

I called them up today and was quoted $300 for the year. Not bad.

The only thing is they are all the way in Florida and I am in Colorado. Should something happen, does that matter on location and getting my boat fixed??? Other than that, if all checks out I shall sign up with them.

we were told by our dealer NOBA was the only way to go - did it right there in his office - $275 I think and it sounded pretty darn cheap - no issues.

I am 26 as well, have a bad driving record, but am married. Ours runs us something like 240/ year. We are with state farm for all auto, boat and house.

My 2006 SunDeck 240 is costing me $1095 a year to insure I didn't have much time to shop around but some how it seems like I must be paying way to much.

Try Progressive. Have several items with them boat and skis so it really won't compare boat to boat price but the policy is a good one. I have both on the water towing covering up to $1000.00 and on the road. With a agreed value pay out not a actual value. That alone can make a difference in the price of your insurance.
