Sea Dek

I just installed Sea Dek this past season on my swim platform. I love it. I installed it myself, pretty simple as it was only a 3 piece swim platform but I only have positive things to say at this point. Ask me next year, hopefully still a positive experience. I dont have a history with it yet so who knows how it holds up going through a winter.

What about stains ? I'm also considering the product but read that stains should be taken care ASAP

I'm curious about stains too as I have the grill mount at the aft port corner and I stand on the swim platform when I cook.

The worse thing I had on the material is probably night crawler dirt. Washed right off however whatever will create the black marks on your non skid will also leave marks on the seadek if it's a light enough color. Mine is sand with black edging. Soooo, the black marks come off easier than with non skid but it does take some scrubbing. No stains yet.

Do you have photo's of your install?

Didn't use Sea Dek we used PlasDECK because of the weld system and it looks just as good as it did a year or so ago when it was installed if that helps at all. We get many compliments on it and it will give your boat an "updated look". Good luck:)

My sea dek is the faux teak titanium color. If I spill something on it, I use my wash brush to scrub it off. I haven't noticed any permanent stains. I don't drink red wine or the like though. It seems to me if you had a stain, you could "sand" it off due to the nature of the product. Just be careful of going to deep and follow the grain. I bet it would just disappear. If it was really bad, you could just order the stained piece and replace that section.

I have SeaDek as well and love it. I get a lot of complements about it. What I like most - Wet or dry you are not slipping all over the place. We have ducks in our area and sometimes they crawl up on the swim platform and leave their calling card. Washes off and with a little dish liquid and scrubbing it is gone. One of our boat members has a 22ft Regal open bow rider. Boat is black and white. He did the swim platform, and the cockpit area in titanium gray and black. Awesome.
If I still have my boat next year I plan to do the cockpit area. My swim platform is a light gray and three levels.
I would recommend that if you get the Sea Dek make sure you go a little bigger in your outline as it will shrink up a little. Very little.
Good Luck!
