Hi Everyone, anyone have experience (both good and/or bad) with SE1 sterndrive replacements? I'm having both drives serviced this week, and it's got to that stage where it may just be more economical to replace them with something that carries a warranty and gives me a little peace of mind for a few years!

I bought a new SE106 to replace my trashed alpha one last year. So far, I've had no issues with it after one full season of about 70 hours. if you go for it, check out nuwave marine. I was looking for something else on their site today, and i noticed they had a really good price on these.

I put an SEI 106 counter rotating lower unit on my port Alpha gen I last year and it performed fine all season.

I'm hoping for that same success. I heard they are made in China or something. There is an SEI 106 on the Cobalt I bought. I have been working on other items and haven't addressed the drive yet. Its been sitting in salt water for a couple of years and looks like you would expect. After I get the engine finished I plan to pull the drive and go through the usual maintenance items. I have a new gimbal bearing and bellows set for it. I am going to have to do some sanding and painting to make it look nice.

I'll let you know what I find.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll be having them fitted next week, right ahead of a relocation from Newport Beach to San Diego so I'll let you know how they hold up!
