There's a bunch of threads about this that you can probably find by searching. But, basically, just carefully remove the thick rubber gasket. Then you can peel out the screen. No need to take anything apart. Or, carefully cut the screen out without removing the gasket and replace with the newer style screen - it has a plastic frame and just wedges into the rubber. There's a newer style gasket that has a slot to receive the plastic frame, but the frame style will still work with what you have.

Called Bomar, OEM, and new gaskets and screens are on the way, Its pretty simple after all. Bomar said what you did.... Remove old gasket and screen, they are glued in, replace with new gasket . Bomar said the new gaskets come with adhesive already on them, and the screen pops in.

Thanks for the reply,

Gary

I have to do the same. Where did you get the part number of the replacement screens and trim kit? Is it located on the port frame itself?

Thanks for the update, Gary.

Check your dealer, Ron (you won't need a part number). They might have them in stock and the price is probably the same. You can use screening from Home Depot (just make sure you get a decent quality that is UV stabilized). Any double-sided tape can be used if you want to re-use the gasket. Adhesive silicone could also be used. Or, use the snap-in screens like I did.

Dennis where did you get the snap in screens and are there different sizes?

From myself...

Our shop had a bunch in stock - I think they were about $10 each... actually, I think they were less, but I'm not sure. Sizing is standard - try your local dealer - just tell them the boat you have and they'll know if they have something in stock that will work.

Just as a side note... since your rubber gaskets don't have the little slot in them, the screen won't be "tight" - it will have a slight roll to it. They stay in place just fine (mine have been there for 4 years) - it's just that the plastic frame stays sightly compressed which means the screen is a little "loose" looking. It doesn't bother me - I don't think it's that obvious.

In reply to post #6 Dennis. I went online at Sea Ray and down loaded the parts manual for my particular boat. (2003 260 Sundancer ). Found the Sea Ray part # for the port oval windows and screen part #. Called OEM (Bomar) in New Hampshire and the service people at Bomar were able to tell me what to order, and how to do the job. Coat for my boat aprox $ 30.00 ea. Bomar said they can tell what you need just by the year and model boat you have.
Bomar # = (603)-826-5791

Hope this helps and thanks for all the replys!
