Hello Everyone!
Whew these past few months were a doosey! I got the OK from the fiance' around Easter to purchase the new boat for our wedding on July 8. The wedding plans were for us to be on the boat moored at the city dock in Portland, OR surrounded by friends and family on the dock (75-100). Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to follow! I flew all over looking for a really clean 450 or 460 'dancer. We finally settled on a vessel in the Bay area and closed mid June. I had just under 3 weeks to have her buffed, cleaned, renamed and ready for the wedding! Oh, and did I say I needed to learn how to operate her?

To add to the stress, we had to close on the "old" boat, too. I had a deal put together with some friends in my yacht club. The sale of the old boat was going along smoothly until the survey. We discovered the repair facility put the wrong anodes on and the lower half of the outdrives were shot!!!! OUCH!!! The buyer hung in there and closed 1 day before the wedding! He arrived 15 minutes before the wedding after the boat was in the shop for 3 weeks!

1) The attached photos are of the old and new boat at the wedding spot in downtown Portland.
2) My lovely bride and I in front of our decorated 460.

BTW, she wanted a fresh start with a new boat for our new family! Wow!!! we now have 30 hours of use on her and absolutely LOVE IT! Here's to a happy Summer of 2011!!!!

Wow, what a nice story ! Congrats on the marriage and one heck of an upgrade.

She's very pretty!

Congratulations!

Stuart,
Congrats on the marriage and the boat!!! Can't wait to see some more pics, of the boat that is!! Best wishes to you both!!

I've been married 33+ years and I'm still clueless on how to "operate her"...oh, you mean the boat!:smt043

Seriously, CONGRATS and BEST WISHES!

Oh that is a very funny one! Unfortunately Gretchen was just getting used to the handling of the 33' with outdrives! Now she sits and spins the wheel asking why the boat is not turning!!!

Todd- Thanks man! It was a hard move to leave the 330 after 11 years. She is a fantastic boat and I miss her performance. But now with two girls and a wife, we needed more space....and a door for morning privacy! ;)
Oh, and Gretchen wanted a shower. So we helped the economy and moved up!

I hope you continue to enjoy your boat. All the best!
Stuart

Hey man,
I am really happy for you. I was actually thinking about a 460 last year but couldn't make the jump. Now with my limited time I can't justify an upgrade but when I do I will be looking at various models including, the 460!! That is really a sweet boat.

Nice job on acquiring two new "she's" in your life. Both are very pretty and both will bring lots of joy in the future. Where are you going to moor the new boat?

Mike- Thanks for your comments. I'm sure the new vessel will bring us many years of happiness and joys of travel on the water. We are presently moored at Jantzen Beach, although the admiral wants a boathouse! Oh, oh!

Congratulations once again!!! :smt038

Usually a new boat and a new fiance or bride don't go together! If you managed to buy also a new car at the same time, you are going to become my hero!!!:grin::grin:
