We got a new Highfield Classic 360 Limited at the end of September just in time for our season to be over.
Took it out a couple of times before the rains started. Picked it up the same day as our new Standard Poodle puppy. We have been working on his training etc.

Looking for ideas for the new Highfield. Maybe this is a Northwest thing. Crab (Dungeness), shrimp and fishing (rock fish and salmon) when out cruising.

So...I made a mount for a Scotty puller...or an Ace puller for the APEX. We are down 350 feet for shrimp and that is a long haul by hand. Crab pots are usually 50 to 75 feet max.

Here is what I did:

Hoping to see some ideas.

Cheers!

Probably correct with it being a NW thing.
Wore out a scotty and moved over to the Ace with the hands free kit.
Ours are set up with swivel mounts on reinforced bases directly to the handrails for height and reach over the side on our 245. Battery capacity would be a concern for me on a small boat. Electric downriggers are also used with the same mounts for trolling and bare rod holders for the finned bottom feeders.
Weather permitting, we will start targeting spotted prawn and king crab in early/mid February.
