Sold our 380 Sundance , looking to buy a 230 outboard
Engines
Outboard
Boatless
SPX
Looking possibly at a used 230 Outboard
How’s the performance , dryness and ride on the hull
I’ve owned several larger SeaRays , I found them to be “ wet “ riding in waves ( salt water boating )
I like the style on the SBX series
Hoping someone has some good reviews from personal experiences

The only wet SR I had was an 86 250 dancer. Had a serious convex bow, constant spray over the windshield, sold it after one year. All my other were concave enough to push the spray away. My current 250 Sundancer is a dry ride.
The SPX is a bowrider; every bowrider is a wet ride. Keep them.

I've had bowriders for 40 years. Yeah, they are wetter. Just keep the center windshield closed in heavy seas.

My SPX outboard is the best of all as far as ride and spray. You need to chose your level of enjoyment..

In any event, what is a SBX. I didn't know they made them. "P" and "B" are far apart on the keyboard. Please clarify what you are talking about.

PS - ignore the plywood comment. Unless you are a regular here you would not understand some of the past idiocy.

They ride nice and, for the most part, quite dry. But if there's a wind, then the spray will (of course) get blown back at you. But generally, dry.

I apologize that was a bad thing to say

Just had rotator cuff surgery yesterday and see things in a different way now

I don’t see a problem….. just don’t ride up front

Sorry for the typo , it’s a 230 SPX with a 200 go outboard
My buddy has a 230 Boston Whaler Vantage that rides nice , and is dry . Just looking to run up the Florida Intracoastal on a sunny day and maybe go out in the gulf when it’s not too tough
Appreciate your opinion

I have a 2018 SPX 210 OB that I have run off Clearwater on a decent day. Stayed dry. I have a video of it but can't upload it.
This is a couple of pics that day so you can see the chop that day. The ride was pretty smooth. Handles the chop well.

You call that a "chop".....LOL. I boat in the mighty Niagara River and that is a calm day. My 190 SPX would eat that chop for lunch.

OTOH, I only boated off Clearwater once. It was red tide day. Nice to have an SPX in those conditions.

Umm, maybe light chop?

That's nice water there man

I’m happy with my 190 SPX, the outboard really opens up some nice storage and so far much more economical to run than the IO’s my friends have had in the past.

Glad it works for you. I need a cabin to go and chill out

I only have a 22 foot , want to go to a 26ft. Next few years
