So headed to my daughters while driving my 2500 Ram to take her trailer back. It's about 6:30PM so pretty dark. Notice a car about 1/4 mile ahead of me that appears to be driving on the berm so I'm thinking they are going to turn into one of the driveways. Then realize they are going about the same speed as me (about 45 MPH). Speed up to try to get closer and see them now driving up on the hillside then come back onto the road, forcing a car coming the other direction off the road. At this point they speed up. I'm now doing 55 and they are pulling away. Speed limit is 45. Wife is on phone with 9-1-1.
Anyone interested on ghost shows we are now in front of Hill View Manor (it has been on several ghost hunting shows). We round the slight curve and notice they are now in the left lane driving towards oncoming traffic. A few cars pull off the side but one spins out right in front of us as they tried to avoid being hit. I was still about 100 yards back so not to get caught up in anything they might cause. The road now opens up into 4 lanes as it crosses a highway. They now are in the left 2 lanes going the wrong way. The 4 lanes goes back to 2 and they are still in the left lane and cars are swerving to try to avoid being hit. After about 1/2 mile driving in the wrong lane they now get back into our lane but are right up against the curb. We get up to a traffic light where there was a car stopped in front of him so luckily they stopped. At this point the police caught up and pulled in in front of me to get behind that car. They pulled away and only went about 10 MPH then turned about 1/4 mile up the road. We then saw about 5 or 6 other police cars coming from the other direction. My step-son is a detective in that city but he was off today. The police officer then calls us and asks what the lady hit. We didn't see her hit anything but when she went up on the hillside there was a fire hydrant that her tracks were very close to. He said her passenger side was side-swiped and headlight was busted out. I told him I got the whole thing on dash cam. Just copied the files over to my laptop so may post them to youtube at some point. On the way back we turned on the road they turned on and the flatbed had it loaded up. It was a Jeep, possibly Compass.
Lucky nobody got killed.

After 24 years as an in-home furniture repair technician, I have seen some pretty good things. And some not so good things. I was averaging about 140,000 miles a year. The worst was a loaded dump truck hit the side of a car stopped in a construction zone. I was the first vehicle on the opposite side from him with one guy standing in the road. The dump truck hit the drivers side door, just right and smashed the elderly man driving the car. I held his hand while he died.

Then one time, on the interstate on the east side of PDX, I followed a flatbed pick up watching a heavy chain bounce around. Watched that chain bounce right off the deck and get lodged between the rear duals. That chain took tight and ripped the axle right out of that pick up with the greatest of ease.

I've seen a lot on the roads. The scariest for me was being in North Hollywood during the shoot out with the two bank robbers. I was three blocks away and watched as they were heading towards our direction. Sitting in a second floor apartment and having 7.62X39 rounds hitting the walls was not fun. And the sickos after digging up blood from the ground was crazy.

I have done a lot of traveling for work as well. The worst accident I saw was less than 2 miles from home. Same thing pretty much the guy died with me trying to hold him together literally ( Wont go into detail.). Last thing he said was please take care of my dog. He had a little dog in the back. It was returned to his wife. That image still haunts me 20 years later.
It was some freaking drunk in a van that hit him. The driver of the van was running around trying to get someones phone so he could call his GF to tell her he would be late. His buddy was pinned under the pass side of the van. He was surprised when the cops put him in cuffs.
Seen a bunch of wrecks that didn't have serious injury. Some I feel they really must have truly had a guardian angel.

Back in the early 90's before we were married we went out with friends. It was about 2:00AM and we dropped one of my buddies (the one that is supposed to be on Street Outlaws soon). We were headed home and on a very dark stretch heading down into a dip. Saw something that looked odd reflecting my headlights. Slowed down and stopped and saw about a 1980 Mustang sitting sideways in the road. Ran to the drivers side and the seat was empty. the hood was leaned up against the side like someone put it there so I assumed the driver went for help. Wife was at the passenger side and said there was someone in that seat so I ran around. We opened the door and he fell out with his head leaning on the open door. Tried to wake him up and saw headlights coming towards us from the other direction. We closed the door and ran around to try to waive him down but he never slowed till the last second. Me and my wife dove over the guardrails to get out of the way. He hit the Mustang right in the drivers side door and pushed the car about 10' sideways. Driver got out and started yelling at us and was drunk. Ran back around to check on the first guy (young 16 year old) and his head was laying on the ground. The right rear wheel was broken off and his right arm was pinned between the bottom of the car and the road. A few minutes later the police showed up. They arrested the 2nd driver for DUI and life flighted the young kid. Oh...when we first pulled up he had the back cover of a phone book where you would hand write your own numbers in. The kid lived but had a severe limp after that. Ended up talking to an old high school classmate and he told me that kid was at his house that night. The kid left there and went home then snuck out of his house and was going to meet up with some girl. No idea i he was drinking or anything. But definitely a scary night and a night I think about often.
