I would like to know if there is a way to have sat. weather radar connected to t.v. without having to put a laptop inline. a weather report is nice to hear on radio, but,I would like to see the radar on my t.v.. Also I want it to be a stand alone device, ie., no sat.t.v. bills. I might be asking alot, but, there might be something out there for my use.

Does your local news station broadcase a channel for weather? Since the switch to digital, there are sub-channels (8, 8-1, 8-2, etc) that are broadcast along with the original channels. In the Dallas metroplex (where I live and boat), I can pick up the digital signal on the TV on the water, and it's a constant weather radar and news ticker. You might look into it, and if you do have an antenna, re-scan your TV or digital receiver box for the TV, to see if you are picking up any additional channels.

In Dallas, 8.2 (or 8-2 depending on your tv) is the AccuWeather broadcast from WFAA, the local ABC affiliate.

Try a digital channel 5 or 11. They have it from the cities. That is what I use when I have the TV on. Otherwise it is my phone that I use if my radar is off.
