Just got back from 5 Nights in Catalina! Awesome trip. Great weather, no boat “issues”. Pic above was taken Monday afternoon in Avalon (hiked up above the Bell Tower). The mooring field and the island in general were still packed on Monday. Finally Summer in SoCal….

Only been there by ferry. There was an identical boat to mine moored right off the restaurant we were sitting at. I was really jealous. Such a cool destination.

To continue..... is your boat in that picture?

Yes, Sir. Our 44’ SD is 5 rows in from the ocean, about centered in that row. If you zoom in, it gets pretty pixelated, however…

That’s the only thing I miss from living in Cali. Used to go there twice a month as we had the ball right next to the Sub.

Wow

Was that 136? My dad owned 136 for a number of years. Spent a ton of time sitting right there.
174, just in front of 136.

Wow

Sure was some great people/boat/docking watching from that spot.

As a kid with my dad we would take an 18’ ski boat to the island every summer. (My dad was born there). His dad owned the bank. My moms dad owned the ice cream and donut shop.

True story. I was about 12 years old. I would take the skit boat out and explore the island every day. Well one morning the Cat Flyer was coming into the harbor and I was headed out. Yep. Took the ski boat right down the middle of the ferry.

I met many of the people in charge that day.

Sure is a very unique location.

That sounds like something I would have done in my younger days also. Crazy $hit.
