Hi all,
I have a 1985 Sea Ray 360 Aft Cabin and want to know if this boat has a vent filter for the waste system and if so where is it at?

thanks,

Kelley

Look behind the mirror in the rear cabin. That's where it is on my 89 340. It only took me 3 years to discover it.

thanks for the feedback, I will check both places. I would have never thought to look behind the mirror in the rear cabin :smt001. I am planning on replacing the waste tank on this soon, is in bad need of a bigger tank but need to find where this filter is, have a smell and cannot seem to find it anywhere thinking it might be this filter.

A smell could be from many places, hoses, pumps, undiscovered leaks etc

Is the smell constant or only when you flush the head?

Make sure you have a Vacuflush system. My friend has that boat and the aft head has Electrosan.

Mine is a vacuflush. The filter is on the outboard side of the holding tank (where I can't get at it). Every time we flush we kill the people around us!!

Put a new filter in a better place... leave the old one (unhooked) where it is.

That's one way to prevent undesirables from rafting up!

I installed a big orange filter this year. I removed my old on and extended the hose up and cut in a new hatch behind my transom door. I don't even need to go into the engine room to replace the media!

Find the vent through hull then go inside and find the vent tube. IF she has a filter you should be able to see it. Mine is on the port side behind the couch. You have to remove the forward side cover to get to it.

just when I flush

both forward/aft are vacuflush systems

I have three places now (thanks a bunch for the feedback) to check for the filter, will be going out tomorrow afternoon and will start my search :smt001

Thanks Mike, maybe I will get lucky hahahahhahah

Well I checked behind after cabin mirror and found after cabin air unit but no filter. I checked behind couch port side front side wall and no filter. I checked all around the holding tank with no luck hahahaha where is that filter :)

Let me ask a question, can you follow the 5/8 line coming off the tank? Or is it hidden? Did it ever have one?

This is weird!

I don't see my last reply I made from my phone so will make a reply from my computer. I could not find any filter anywhere so asked the guy that owned the boat before the guy I bought it from, he owns a boat at the same marina and he said my boat does not have a vent filter.
