Help! New to us a 2006 44' Sundancer. Lightly used, but neglected preventive maintenance & upkeep. All sanitation hose severely cracked and need replacing. I have the guest head/hose completely moved, and the cross bilge hose from master vacuum pump to holding tank removed. I have the "sealant plug" removed on both the bilge & cabin side of the "firewall". The issue I have is from the couch, then under the vacuum cleaner, and salon air conditioning unit, to under the water manifold. There is no easy access that I can see. I have looked at removing the stairs, I have not found a way of doing that. Any ideas from anyone that has tackled this job perviously would be greatly appreciated. I was prepared for a dirty job, not an impossible one! Thank you in advance, Robbie

I went through this recently. I didn't do it but know what was done and watched. You have to completely remove the salon couch assembly (not the frame). Cut all "hangers" and ties, loosen up all clamps or remove until reinstall. Mechanic pulled the tubing that runs under couch/vacuum/salon air from the bilge. He said there was so much "sealant" it was ridiculous. He had to yank and have guidance. All sealant has to be removed first so you have some play. He grabbed an end near the firewall and pulled. Helper made sure with a long steel rod that it fed "out" when he got to the vacuum area under triangle/vacuum access area. Same way to sneak the new back through. I changed everything-all hoses, returns, vent lines, filter, clamps, duck bills, toilet seals and seats, blah, blah from the holding tank to master salon. You need 2 people to do it and it's a B_ _CH. Once done, reseal everything of course. Hope that works for you.

I have to laugh, I have half of the salon torn apart, the only thing left in the salon is the couch base. My fear is the hangers that "may" be under the vacuum/air conditioning unit securing the hose. I have the sealant plug cleared as the hose is free to pull back & forth. I am replacing all the parts you just listed. Perfect info, thank you!!! It can be done without tearing the stairs out. You have the same hull color we do, looks great, Thanks!!!

You are more than welcome. You will find this forum and the 420 DA forum to be very informative. I am humbled by what others have posted and have learned so much in the 8 months we have had ours. Unfortunately, the past owner of mine was the same way perhaps as yours so I have had to refinish, replace, redo so much and this forum has guided me well. Glad to help and thanks for the compliment. Mine is an '05 that I am graced by all who don't know-think it is new. It is stem to stern. Good luck and calm waters...
