The hoses that run to the macerator and pump out from the waste tank need replaced. They're starting to crack and bubble. I've never used the macerator, in fact the discharge valve is shut and the handle is removed, but the lines need replaced anyway. Obviously I want to make sure the tank is completely empty before doing this as well as clean (if possible) I've seen plenty of threads on what to use in the tank, anyone have any experience in replacing these lines? Something that could prevent me from getting ill? You know, the old 'Under any circumstances, do not...' lessons?

Maybe Mike Rowe will come do this dirty job?

I am getting ready to change some of my lines probably this weekend. I plan to take it nice and slow with gloves on and plenty of plastic down. Then start with the highest connections first. Before that I plan to pump the tank and flush with lots of water as well.

I'll tell you I did my boat last summer and it was horrible. It didn't even take a huge length of time, but it did require two people... one to fish the hoses, one to pull and hook up. The smell twas absolutely horrible. As soon as I popped the main line, I was overtaken by a worst smell ever. I almost gagged. I would advise to put in some nose plugs or put some Vicks vapor rub under your nose when doing the job.
