What do you all recommend as far as # of grit and procedure for sanding/preparing props, shafts, bottom paint, etc., For paint

Thanks, this will be my first job and just want to make sure I do it right.

That's a big boat and will require some time and a lot of sanding discs. When I sand mine I use 80 grit 5" discs on a random orbit sander. I connect it to my large Rigid shop vacuum with a "Dust Deputy" dust collector inline between the sander and the shop vac. The Dust Deputy collects 98% of the dust and I can sand all day and not clog the filter in the vac. You need to wear a N95 dust mask (if you can find one). Wear old clothes and put some comfortable on the ground to lay on. I use the same sander and discs on all the running gear and trim tabs as well.
