In the bilge of my '88 300 Weekender, There is a bilge pump under the steps that seems to do the job, no prob. However, there always seems to be water in the very front bilge, regardless of the water level under the steps. I have poked a long fiberglass fish tape through the drain tube from the front and doesn't appear to be blocked. Is this a seperate compartment with a seperate pump? Or maybe the bot is not sitting level on the trailer enough? I can't find access to it.

I have an '89 300 DA, I know that they are different but the cabin foreward of the steps is the same layout. I have a small sump pump under my aft cabin for shower and AC condensate. This is probablly the same pump you have under the steps. Where do you have a pump located foreward? My boat has no bilge pump in the bow area. The bilge under the cabin floor is probablly filled with foam so I don't know how water could be getting from the main bilge or cabin sump into the bow area. Are you missing a hatch? (I thought I saw that in another thread).
There are limber holes under the v-berth in case a hatch is left open or water somehow enters the cabin. I think they just allow the water to run across the cabin floor to the cabin sump. My boat sits a little bow high in the water due to the stern drives, yours may sit more level due to the inboards.

I dont believe I have a second pump. Just cannot figure how water is standing in the front V, and the pump works fine and pumps out completely from under the steps. Maybe the limber hole is plugged up way under there somewhere.

My limber holes don't run to the cabin sump, just onto the cabin floor. Sounds like you have a leak from a hatch or deck fitting or rub rail and that is accumulating under the v-berth. Stop the leak and you should'nt have any water in there. My v-berth was dry all last season with the boat in a wet slip. Is water leaking from the anchor locker into that space? My anchor hatch needed new gaskets and the bow pulpit needs to be pulled and rebeded.

This space Is large directly beneath the furthest forward V Cushion. It has a pvc tube which looks to be heading towards the shower sump area. Where it drains, I have no idea. The Bow pulpit and the anchor chain cover is off right now so I'm pretty sure that is where is comng in, but I am preplexed at why there is no way to get out.

I'm going to the boat this weekend to get some work done. I'll try to take a look at where everything should /does drain. This is the large space under the center of the v-berth right? I usually store my life jacket bag in there when not in use. Your right, its a huge empty space. I would'nt want it filling with water.

Here is a picture of the under the V berth in my 300. Notice the drain tube that seems to not go anywhere. Can anyone shed some light on whats under the floor between the V Berth and the Shower pump under the stairs? I pushed a ceiling tile hanger wire, approx. 6' long into the pvc tube and it never ended.

Also, I found this carpeted hatch in the boat also. It matches the floor but for the life of me, I cannot figure out where it goes.
Anyone??

OK, upon close inspection, I found that that drain tube runs from the v-berth to the cabin sump (at least on my 300Sundancer). I would think yours would be the same. Any water getting under the v-berth SHOULD drain to the cabin sump and be pumped overboard. The floor of my 300DA is solid so I think the pvc tube is run under the floorboards and empties into the cabin bilge. Try a plumbers snake to unclog your drain tube, it should be long enough to reach the 12 or so feet from end to end.
