What a great sunny December day. It felt kinda weird fishing the Sea Ray in late December, but hey!, the fish were biting and the weather was decent.

After several attempts at trying to get the anchor to stick (a good breeze out of the south), we finally got settled along the west side of the Saginaw River channel about 100+yards in from #24.

Ended up with 64 jumbo perch plus one 16" walleye!

Biggest perch was 13".

Brother Scott and his boy Evan. This was the first time I've fished with him in like 8 or 9 years.

Lots of boat traffic for December!

I think I'll finally put the boat to sleep now...

Very cool... I remember going out on the Saginaw Bay with my dad catching perch... There was this hole-in-the-wall fish joint in Tawas on US 23 that had a great fried perch dinner... forgot the name.

Four Suns,
It's been the best perch fishing in probably 20 to 30 years. Been catching buckets full since October. Even the guys fishing from shore and the bridges are loading up with chunky perch.

I know the place you are talking about in Tawas but the I forget the name myself. In fact, I think it is still there. Kind of a small mom-pops place on the lake side as you just get into town....

Yeah.... that's the place... south end of Tawas on the water.

Very nice fish

You launched your boat south of Hooters, Correct? - I saw you just as you were leaving the dock & told my wife that you must have heated storage. Do you or did you re-winterize? It was a damn nice day out.

That was me!

The boat stays in my insulated/heated barn.

We thought about stopping in at Hoots after we got done fishing, but it was almost dark by the time we got back.
