A sad day - 57° and 25 kts of wind in Chattanooga - putting Reward away for a "mid-south" winter as Tarpon Point Marina in Fort Myers is not yet rebuilt from Ian. So we will go to Florida without her.

Simple "mild" winterization - install 3 cabin heaters controlled by WiFi Plugs. Cameras and 4 temp senders along with a BoatSafe bilge heater. The water never goes below 40°, so the bilge heater rarely runs. Drain the fresh water tank, disconnect the bridge icemaker and suck the water out of the lines. Put the cockpit canvas up along with the vent covers. That's about it for a "mid-south" winterization. She'll enjoy a fresh water, covered slip for the winter, and we will miss her terribly.

It sounds easy enough

Have you considered leaving these in year round? I do and get a kickout of "checking" in from time to time. I added a 3rd camera yesterday, for the cabin.

I am contemplating winterizing the genny and main engines this year. The engine compartment never got below 40 degrees last year. Yeah, I get it, what if the marina loses power and the heaters go off. It's a lot of effort/work for me in Northern, VA for maybe 4-5 days of below freezing days over 2 months.

WiFi plugs? I have some research to do. I use the heaters with the dial thermostat which work really well but I'm a sucker when it comes to buying anything that can remotely be rationalized as an upgrade.

My heaters were running when it was 45-50° inside the boat. I got tirede of the $220 electric bills and I added these. Make sure you get the 20 amp models - not the 15 amp.

I bought these lasst year - they were 20 Amp. Now it says 15 amp.
