Not my boat or anyone I know. Ran across this video on YouTube.

Some of the things you find on the internet are almost unbelievable.

Disclaimer: I do not endorse this type of installation.

It's gonna be great! Especially once covered.

WOW !!! What a great idea....just think of the money he saved by not having to purchase a true marine generator set. Plus the weight and space savings.!! Im going to hook up something like that on my boat. But it will have to wait until tomorrow, i have an appointment with the men with the white jacket right now. Why does the white coat fit so tight ?? Why do i have to wear it so long ? I like the padding on the walls, it makes it really quiet........................................

The problem is the fan will blowup the boat first and it will be another generator statistic missed....

At least it’s not another Honda generator thread. Thanks for changing it up :)

He just invalidated his insurance policy (if he had one in the first place). Of course it could be run all night on the hook as well!

They both have a zero db rating if there are not running. Very, very quiet.

I was wondering if this topic was going to show up this winter.

Anyway ......great installation. The nylon strap for the exhaust and galvanized exhaust pipe will definitely be crowd favorites. Using a household fan to cool it is pure genius and he "saved over $4,000" with this approach!o_O

The video was like the infomercials as he kept showing the added touches; but wait there's more!

Yeah, the household fan was a great addition.

I don’t know what to say. Wow. I hope he allows comments on his videos so someone can warn everyone not to do that.

If he manages to run it long enough without blowing himself up, he will find that the fan recirculating the hot engine bay air, will do little to cool the gen.

However, I did find this way to marinize a generator for use on a boat. Who knew it could be this easy:
