I have a 1999 400DA. The windshield wiper arms are rusting and are made by Dyna. I want to take them off and paint them. I removed the nut holding the arm onto shaft. I thought the arm would easily pull off the shaft. Is there anything else holding the arm on the shaft? I did find replacement arms and blades at Transportation Accessories Company

I did this job last summer. To my recollection there is nothing else other than that black cap nut and washer holding it on the armature bolt. Apply penetrating oil and it should come off - although the arm is spring loaded so that the wiper stays against the glass so there will be resistance.

If you didn't get them off yet try standing them up and rocking them and they should break free. The shaft is tapered and when they are installed they are press fit on by tightening the nut. Don't make a mess with oil. That shouldn't be necc.
I did ours a couple years ago. They weren't really rusted so I just scuffed them and sprayed em. Follow up with new blades and they will look like new!
