Under the bathroom sink we have a non working waste pump connected to a thru hull. 1984 sea Ray 270 DA. Problem is its clogged and all the pipes are rusted together. Access for reefing with a big pipe wretch is limited at best and I can see one thing leading to another. Any suggestions on how to attach unscrewing them? Also wonder if anyone would know the size of the thru hull threads on the inside?
Thx Mike

Sawzall time and start over? I've never seen plumbing on a Sea Ray rust since it's mostly plastic. Is this a DIY project gone bad?

Thats an option but I was trying to preserve the thru hull to keep the job simple especially since it is in the water!
Posted pictures of what I am dealing with to my photo bucket. Also, getting a sawsal in there might be tricky as well

The factory did not install whatever abortion you have going on there.

You need to determine what was being pumped overboard (black water waste from the head/gray water from the sink or shower) and then you need to rip it all out and start from scratch so that you can insure that whatever goes through that through-hull is leagl and won't get you in trouble with the law.

It looks like once you remove that other white hose, you should have better access with either a power saw or a hand hacksaw. But, yes, get rid of that whole mess and redo it with one piece of hose.

What is this "waste" pump pumping?

It could also be the pump is just not working. It turns on but I have not tested it yet. Actually not sure how to do that one

Macerator? OK, don't use it. For one, you have to be out of the "no discharge zone", which can vary. Second, it doesn't appear that there is a seacock. A mac needs to have a seacock installed to prevent accidental discharge. When you're in the no discharge zone, the handle needs to be removed or tied closed.

Yes... I understand all that. There is a Y valve. It is tied off normally. There is a seacock and a check valve

Looking at this again, in regards to disassembly... I would remove (or cut) the short section of hose. Then start working your way towards the thru-hull. From the picture, it appears that you have room for a pipe wrench. Take precautions (a second pipe wrench) to avoid putting stress on the old thru-hull so you don't break it off. Spray any of the metal to metal connections with PB Blaster a few times (over the course of a few days) to help.

You may very well be able to remove the section of "plastic pipe-to-barb, metal elbow, metal pipe" all in one piece. Then you can remove the last "set" of pieces all at once, as well.

I've got a very small rotary cut-off tool that may get you in to snip away at the galvanized pieces. Let me know if you'd like to borrow it.

Hey thanks Thats what I am thinking as well. When I get to this project it will have to be alittle at a time. PB Blaster coming up then we shall see if the pipe wrench will work....who knows

Thx Mike

Thanks buddy I may well need it to saw the s...t off. Some other problems first however
Thanks Mike

Just be careful regarding flying sparks in such a small area.
