When I winterized my ac/heat i ran the pink thru in the heat mode. I had pink come out of both thru hull fittings. Question is do I need to run the ac also.

Nope, same system... Your heat is basicly your A/C just running the compresor in reverse, but as far as the cooling system it doesn't know if it is running A/C or heat....

I did mine the same way. Thanks for asking the question, I will sleep better now.

I did my water system, but still have to do ice maker and dock side water inlet, which is probably where I should have done most of the winterizing from.

Did you do your water system as well?

Jeff,

Don't forget the transom shower and the shower/AC condensate sump in the cabin. Boat neighbor forgot them until he called someone for a "check list check". He adverted an "Aw Sh*t" moment!

I did all the water system but didn't pump anything into the dockside water inlet. Will it be a problem or do you think enough pink spilled into the line. When I did the water system I disconnected the hot water outlet and cold water inlet to the water heater and tied them together. Then just disconnected the pump inlet side and put hose in bottle of pink. Ran all Faucets, drains, sumps,ac pumps don't forget the wash down in the anchor locker!!

While we're on the don't forget the -------- list......

don't forget the Galley faucet sprayer and the windshield washers.....

HWH bypassed by connecting Cold water line to Hot water line....

Fresh water winteriziation bucket

hooked into FW pump...

After running all faucets, drains, etc, I then connect a small pump to the dock side water regulator and pump a few squirts through

One more thing.....I leave all the faucet open after it's all over.....as a bit of insurance just incase to leave a bit of room for expansion in the lines...

Oh Sh** forgot the galley faucet sprayer. Will just disconnect it.

Dom, thanks I forgot my galley faucet spray. I don't have as fancy a boat as you, so don't have windshield washers. :(

Thanks!

I still just hook up a compresser at 35psi to the dockside water connection and blow out the entire system. Has worked every time on every boat I have ever done here in Maryland. Pink stuff in the traps and drain the HW heater. It's a no brainer. But still best to do what you like best or feel comfortable with.

I agree...it's a matter of preference....blow out the lines or fill with Pink. I prefer Pink for two reasons. 1st, it guarantees me that I don't have a 'puddle' of water somewhere in a low spot or loop of the FW system and that I have some protection in all the nooks and crannies .... 2nd...it keeps all things interanl to the FW system, like gaskets, joints, faucets, etc lubricated.

Dom, when you pump the pink into the dock side water intake, where do you pump it out from?

Jeff...You see that green hose? It's connected to the fresh water wash down. I open that valve and it comes out that hose...the mess on the swimplatform. If you look behind your transom, you'll see it's a very short T from the dock inlet to the wash down.

Jim...they have compression fittings with the grey 3/4 round retainers...Takes a minute or two to bypass the tank.

For all the reasons you state I blow out my system and then fill with pink.
