Runnin Rich

5.0L V8, 220HP, 2 barrel carb. Electronic fuel pump, alpha I Gen II outdrive 1.62R. All this pushing a 99' 210 sundeck. Shes runnin rich, so rich it almost smells like raw fuel. I thought about a tune up but everything was replaced last season by previous owner. Im thinkin carb rebuild. I just ran some sea-foam through it but I need to get it on the water to flush it through. Any thoughts?

Carb Cleaner? Maybe it's dripping fuel into intake mani that's not getting burned? Simple and cheap-my first resort for most problems, before I spend $ re-building carb. Are you seeing black smoke? Previous owner tune up? I don't trust 'em!! I'd look at everything, dist cap (if you got one), rotor, plugs, etc. before assuming it's a carb issue. Even new parts can be BAD-learned that the hard way once. $$$$$!!!

Is that an after market electric fuel pump? Is it too large for the job at hand?

It could be a stuck float valve causing flooding. Is it happening at all speeds or only at the bottom end of the rev range?
