i bring the boat, they buy the fuel, we split the food. I'm the only one who pulls the tube. You are at my mercy when you are on it. Have a great day.

That is unbelievably insensitive, crass, and ignorant.

Read your history.

No crying, bleeding, or throwing up. If you find any money, I get half.

Two Peas, Sorry, didn't mean to offend. How would you have responded to being called Hitler since you know, as I do, his history? Just asking.

It was offensive too. Noone who knows his history would make either comment.

Two peas, I will keep that in mind when posting in the future. I'm not out to offend folks on this site. I think if you have seen my post to new members, I hold the current members of this site in the highest regard.

Oldskool, I think that is a good idea on a public board... Sorry to jump on your post, but it just caught me the wrong way.

The Ross sisters and the Andrews sisters were quite something...

DITTO.....

When I have guests aboard that haven't been aboard before I run through a short safety briefing and show them where the PFD's are, how the head works, etc.

I only have a couple of rules for guests....
1. What the captain says is LAW
2. No red beverages AT ALL
3. Have fun

I don't allow anyone to pay for fuel. I do allow (encourage) them to bring some food or snacks and what they want to drink. I'll buy the gas but I'll be darned if they're going to drink my Patron.

Back on topic.....I hate having children on my boat while underway as they make me very nervous, red drinks are a sin and NOT allowed, black shoes that mark up your deck are always a problem, and ladies that want to wear heals of some sort is nothing but trouble. I never ask for any guest to pay for fuel or drinks or anything else. I do strongly suggest having another person on board that is very familiar with boating and better yet, your boat, to help out especially if you have a flybridge and cant see whats going on down below.

No dripping saltwater suits belowdecks.

Other than that, if we're heading far offshore I review the safety equipment aboard if there are any noobs, in the event I were to become incapacitated.

Operation of VHF and DSC emergency function, location of vests and ditch bag, and location and deployment procedure of the life raft.

As far as I know the Minnesota law does not apply to commercial vessels. I don't not believe that there is a size limitation to private boats.

I am curious if this law applies to all boat sizes and types or only specific size and types of boats.

Wisconsin is considering similar legislation for in-state waterways. Once proposal I read had exemptions. Exemptions are multiple and include all vessels over 26 feet or any size if the boat has no power.

You are funny...... With the picture of the kid stuffed in your engine compartment... We should call Child Protective Services......:wow:

Newspapers are banned aboard since anybody bringing one aboard will soon completely lose interest in it and abandon it in the most remote location on the boat.
