Boat Info
34 year old CLASSIC 300 DA, towed almost anywhere behind the Duramax Dually Crew Cab.
Engines
16 cyl, 700 cu. in./Alpha I's
I've been messing around on the boat all week getting ready for the weekend. It's on the trailer and plugged in via extension cord. This morning I walked out and I could hear a sound from the outside that sounded like a bilge pump running. I popped into the engine compartment and it wasn't a bilge pump it was my charger!! The lights are green indicating flooded cells and in float mode, but it's buzzing!!! Normally when I plug it in I can put my ear on the hull and hear a buzz after I plug it in. This was LOUD like a worn out buzzer! I've checked the connections and all look good? Is this an indication that the charger is on it's last legs and about to die?? It's only two years old! Needless to say I unplugged it! I plugged it in again about an hour later and after a few moments it started buzzing again! It's unplugged now!

Thanks for any help you can send my way!

Sundancer,

I would really like to get the charger back for evaluation. If it is an inconvenience for you to send it back and you need to have a unit now let me know and I can do an advance exchange.

Give me a call so I can take care of it for you.

now thats service!!

nice to see someone stand behind their products.

Jim, After your reply last year to a post about the promariner chargers, I purchased one and have been very happy with it so far.

Jim:

Thanks for the reply! We were leaving for a two week trip in the San Juans and I just left the charger in. When it hits the float stage it starts buzzing. I've already spoken to your Technical folks and they've had me double check some things. I'll continue the follow through with them and then return it if I need to! GREAT SERVICE and Thanks for the reply and phone calls!!

Wow. Mr. Mitchell, if you ever get the opportunity to purchase: AT&T, Comcast, Dell, Bank of America, and obviously, Delta Airlines, PLEASE DO SO! (they are in desperate need of your business sense)

Take Jim up on his offer and get the replacement in before you come back over. It'll take you 20 minutes to swap it.

You guys are just toooooo funny. I was dying laughing. Thanks for all the nice comments. Hopefully I won't need to use this for my resume references someday. LOL:smt038

As an update, I did call Jim and ProMariner and he shipped a NEW 1220i along with return postage for the old unit! I swapped it and returned the buzzing unit!!

Thanks Jim for your great service! The new unit works well and is a LOT quieter! We just got back from two weeks in the San Juans where the new unit worked flawlessly! I'm a customer for life now and will pass that loyalty onto my kids!

Another satisfied, no, more than satisfied customer!!!
