Hi all
Boat was hit and cracked rub rail at bow/anchor. looking for recommendations of anyone on south shore long island that can repair

I imagine they just cut a new piece in?

Thanks

If you want it done right it's gonna cost ya. I had to repair a small section of rub rail last year. I tried to order the stainless piece in about a 2' length--no luck. Nobody carries it. I had to order a 20' length and gave what was left to the guy who did the repair for me and he knocked some off the repair cost.

Mine has a grey plasticky looking material behind the stainless rail. The repair tech did a great job of matching the material color and blended the job in just right so that you can't even see it.

Just a suggestion to all of you-->

Before you need to call the various repair guys who will eventually be working on your boat, stop in to say hello, get to know them so they know you by name and will recognize your name when you call.

I take a dozen donuts down to the shop where the guys are who do repair work and some maintenance on my boat. Keeps me on their good side and high on their priority list when something needs to be done.

So get to know your mechanic, your fiberglass guy, an electronics guy and any other specialists you can think of.
