As part of another thread on fuel tank senders I thought a specific one on wiring may be in order. I'm looking at my stock fuel tank senders and they are the stock sonic type with 3 wires (pink, purple, black). The Royce replacement sender has two wires (red, black). I know black is ground, but does the Royce red with connect to the stock pink or purple and what do you do with the extra stock wire?

If I were you would review th wiring diagram for your boat (on the Searay website if you don't have a copy) and have it in front of you when you call Royce @

I have the diagram and it is very poor. It only shows 2 wires (not 3) so it is probably incorrect.

Had dealer install new Royce senders. Looks like you use the black and the pink original Sea Ray wires to connect to the new sender. The original third Sea Ray wire (purple) is not used.

Has anyone changed to these Royce fuel sender units on a 2000-2005 300 Dancer? If so did you have to move the tanks ??

Our gages aren't even close about half of the time and this is becoming a nuisance.

Check to see the clearance above your sender. The Royce units have a rigid tube the depth of your tank so need close to that clearance above to install (can slide in at an angle which saves some space). The guts are flexible and can be removed with only 3" of clearance. My boat has an access panel in the floor to get to the sender on the port tank (starboard is open above sender).
