Anyone put rod holders on a 270 sundeck?? As i was walking through the boat, I really couldnt find a suitable spot...If you have, pics would be great..

That looks like a nice option..Im really skepticle od drilling through the boat...I thought about the tow bar but couldnt find anything that would work...Thanks for the link..

BTW...How are you liking your boat???I looked at the 240..Its actually the same size as my 270...(go figure) Was goiing toget the 240 but then I found the 270 used at a price I couldnt refuse

BTW, I love this boat and it looks great in my driveway:(

I wish the rain would stop so I could get it out on the water..Tomorrow looks good though..

On my 240 I mounted them to the bimini back support bar. I'll have to see if I can find a pictures. The mounting bracket stays attached, but the rod holder is removed when not in use.

You can see the mounting bracket here. Sorry the pictures are big just did not show up when I made them smaller.

I bought these from West Marine and mounted them on the rear support pole on the bimini. They look like they're supposed to be there. I would't do any heavy duty trolling with them but they're perfect for drift fishing and light line trolling. I think West Marine is having a sale on them soon, buy one get one free so you may want to check with them. Also, if you have a Port Supply account, they're only $18.99 and when I bought mine they were buy one get one free so I only paid $40 for four of them. I'll post some pics tonight.

Yes, it is just the bracket. One of the reason I went for the ones I got from Bass Pro was that when you are not fishing only the bracket was left on the poles.

I really, really want to mount 2 of these rod holders on my boat, but my wife isn't sure it's a good idea.

:smt043:lol::smt043Jim, I'm sure we would both be swimming home if we tried to mount them on our 240s:huh: But then again I did not even see a rod in the picture for the longest time.:smt043:lol::smt043
