Have you seen the "Ride of Your Life" Sea Ray promotion? http://www.searay.com/2007_winter_promo.asp?cid=1729&formType=3730

If you purchase a new 240, 260 or 280 Sundancer, or a 270 Amberjack, you'll also get a 2-year lease on a GMC Canyon. (Other promotions exist for other boats).

This is very interesting considering the recent posts on towing capacity, safety margins, etc. Especially so, since the towing capacity of the Canyon is "up to 4,000 pounds" according to the Canyon's web site http://www.gmc.com/canyon/canyon/index.jsp.

Does Sea Ray expect a Canyon to safely tow a 280 Sundancer? That's even beyond where I would feel safe.

Poor promotion in my opinion.....................give bigger discounts on boats not "tie-ins" that people may or may not want. :smt021

If this is similar to past Sea Ray promotions, your dealer will be able to convert the truck lease into a cash discount. It does seem odd, nevertheless, that Sea Ray would promote a truck which can't safely pull the boats.

It works if you keep the boat in the Dealers Boat-tel at $300-500 a month pop and drive the Canyon back and too.

But what do I know, those genius's in marketing get paid to think. :smt043 Thats a real oxymoron.

seems like a weird promo... gotta give em points for being creative.... I would be worried if it said "score a sweet tow vehicle". 4K would tow the trailer with no boat, my fuel, fresh water, one of the optimas, one bilge pump, and a sack with a burger and fries. :smt043 err something like that.
