My '91 200 bowrider did not come with a horn. I would like to retrofit one. It would be nice to have one like the boats come with but I am afraid to cut into the hull. I would appreciate suggestions of how I could retrofit one.

I just purchased a single trumpet horn to install on my 215EC....i have only had my boat around 2 years and have already gone through 2 of the poorly designed standard horns....the trumpet horn will only require two small holes to be drilled for either screws or through bolts....you would not have to cut a big hole in your hull if you use a trumpet horn....i got a 'shorty' single trumpet horn from Overtons...it is small enough to not look out of porportion on my boat..

It should have a horn. Look for an oval plate about the rubrail - either up towards the bow, or possibly as far aft as the windshield.

Trumpet horn is one of my considerations. I will look at Overton's. If there is one small enough because I want it to fit under my custom fit cover.
Lazy, there is no horn. My boat did not come with a horn or an hour meter.

Hmmm. That's an odd one - it should have been a standard feature.

Edit: No hour meter is typical, considering the age of the boat. Possibly a previous owner installed a stand-a-lone somewhere in the engine compartment or underneath/behind the rear seats.

there are some small 'hockey puck' size horns with a base that screws into the outside of the hull vs fitting into a hole in the hull....my old 1986 Chris Craft bow rider had one and it worked OK...i have seen them advertised so they are still around...this style horn might would open up some additional mounting options due to its relatively small size...
