I will be replacing a thruhull transducer & faring block with a new ducer and block. The old one was in there when I bought the boat 12 years ago. Any issues with using the existing hole and existing faring block to mount the new transducer?
How does one actually remove the old transducer without damaging the boat?
I am reasonably handy; however, drilling a hole in the bottom of a boat is an unnatural act!
Thanks,

If the block is in good shape then go for it. As for removal, loosen the nut and work it out of the hole. Depending on what sealant they used will make it easy or hard. Have a razor blade handy and some adhesive remover to use to loosen the seal.
