My belts are squeaking, and want to replace them.
which bolts do I loosen to reduce the slack on the belt to replace

it is on a 95 7.4l carb Inboard engine

If you can post a pic of your engines I will try to point out what needs to be loosened to perform a belt change. With out having a pic I have a question are they (belts) "v-belts" if so I would look at the smallest "bolt on" part they drive and then look for a bolt/nut that has a grove said bolt slides on. If you have a serpintine (sp) these are flat wide belts, then look for a small diameter pulley this a tensioner this will have a nut head usually use a 1/2 in or 13mm socket on a long driver to free the belt. With this set up I recommend taking a good pic so you can replace the belt easily. Hope this helps but if you need further input post a couple pics and I will do what I can to assist. Also when you buy your new belts opt for the high end replacement usually a gator back type. With those you get better wear and they run smoother than standard flat backs. A few dollars more now and well worth it. Hope this helps you out.

Have a good one
