Replacing that Old Benson windlass

The boat came with that up and down rope only windlass, it was killing me lol. So I bought the Good Windlass system free drop, installing it this week. can't wait. Another new addition to the old girl

I got my Good Windlass installed last June. I love it! Should have done it years ago.
After my Benson died, I went with a Powerwinch Free Fall. Hated that one.

You'll love it! One of my favorite things to do is spend a day or evening on the hook. The Good Windlass worked flawlessly for me every time last year.
Did you run a new, heavier gauge, set of wires for the new windlass?
I did.
Probably could have gotten away with the wires Sea Ray used for the Benson, but decided to go with all new stuff anyway.
I wound up pulling the old windlass wires back to the hanging closet on the starboard side of my boat, putting a small 12 volt sub panel in there, and then running some 12 volt outlets in the cabin. There were none in there from the factory, and they come in handy for charging all the family cell phones when we are out. I still have a few empty spaces on the panel in case I want to add anything else.
I got a new label that says "Cabin Outlets" for the breaker at the helm that used to say windlass.
