The rear padded sundeck hatch wood had gotten soft and rotten on our 1982 210 CC. I decided to go with a starboard material as it was one of the places in the interior that sees the most water. It is where you climb over and in and out onto the swim platform.

Just a few pictures of progress. I'll get more as I finish it up. The vinyl is still very soft, near new condition so I reused it. The foam was in great shape so I just added one more layer to give it a bit more support.

Something I did learn with this process and a mistake on my part. I used a pen to mark the inside of the upholstery so I would know how to put it back together. Wide side is what. Some if it bled through to the surface on the outside. Not bad but I will need to try to get this ink out. Live and learn.

The rest of the boat is near mint condition. The interior was completely redone in 1995 by the original owner. I am the second owner, purchased it in 2007. He took meticulous care of her, 600 some odd hours.

I used the tailgate of my Land Cruiser as my workbench. It was a great day to work outside. I hope to take her down to the lake soon...

The finished product. I added some photos of the pad completed. It is the pad behind the seat back. Also added some photos of the rotten plywood that used to be inside the pad.

I am pleased with the outcome. Though I did make the mistake with the pen bleeding through to the outside when I marked the vinyl cover, it is barely noticeable. I am hoping the sun will fade the ink out in time. Arrow right or left through the photos.

You can see a little of the ink the bled through above my hand in the picture where I am holding the lid open.
