Did a quick search of the forums without finding an answer to this specific question...
I bent the pulley on my raw water pump (don't ask) and now need to change it. Priced it out at $60 plus or minus at a variety of marine places. Given that this is a standard pulley from a GM motor, I gotta think that this pulley can be found at an auto parts house for substantially cheaper.
My question really revolves around the size of the pulley. If I can't find the exact size pulley, but one pretty close, does anyone see any real negative effects of using a slightly smaller or larger pulley? Sure, the size of the pulley will dictate the amount of water getting pushed around, but I've gotta think that a very minor difference in diameter size shouldn't cause any heartburn.
Has anyone gone through this exercise?
