has anyone mounted a horn on the anchor locker hatch?

how difficult is this to do? i'd like to add a better sounding horn to our 320.

Stan...I think there was someone on this site that put airhorns in or around the anchor locker.

hey jeff, thanks. i did a search and didn't find anything. ron, the guy you met, had some installed on his, and it doesn't look too hard to do. the existing terminals are used. basically, i think anway, remember i'm polish, it looks like i'd unplug the wires running to the existing squeaky horn and attach them to the new one. how hard can that be!!!!!

any luck on selling your's yet? we are very happy with our new one, she runs fine. did the harbor ever give you a bird dog for you hooking us up with them?

Stan...it may have been on another forum...I can't recall.... no luck with mine..several looking, but no money on the table. ..but I have just about decided to get a couple of more years.... I will have my oldest in college in a year...and not sure what that is going to cost yet.

I have not heard anything from the Harbor...I am glad you are enjoying your boat.

i don't think i ant to get into air tanks etc! something electric will be great.

i think that sucks about "the harbor" next time i hear from sam i am going to mention it. they'd probably still have the boat if it hadn't been for you, and we'd still be looking!!!!

just the other day we were out cruising on Ron's boat and we were talking in general about boats. i said i'm glad we didn't break down buy the 300, he turned and said "well you got the deal of the century."

good luck in selling yours and if i hear of anyone down this way looking i'll give them your email addy!!!

Put them on the hardtop/arch where they belong. That embarrassment that Sea Ray calls a horn in the anchor lockers is criminal.

Your 320DA deserves a real (air) horn. I had one installed on the arch. I remember someone (maybe Frank Webster?) saying that if you are going the air horn route, the anchor locker wouldn't be a good spot because of moisture problems.

That makes sense, thanks!

I have air horns mounted on the foredeck just forward of the windshield on our '89 340DA. The compressor and tank are all one unit and mounted in a compartment under the helm seat. Air horns are really the best way to go. And it is really fun scaring the crap out of the dis-courteous slip neighbor who partied a bit past good taste the night before. I mean you're supposed to sound your horn when leaving your fairway, right? Even if it is only 8 AM.
