Replacing old GPS

I am looking at purchasing the Standard Horizon CP300 with external antenna. This will be replacing my existing Garmin 215. From what I can tell so far this unit should almost fit into the existing hole, as the Garmin is flush mounted. Does anyone have this unit? Thoughts on the unit? It is priced a fair bit cheaper than a comparable Garmin unit.

My opinion is if you have a Garmin now it will be a downgrade to put the Standard Horizon in. My current boat had the S.H. in it when I purchased it and I could not deal with it. The Garmin is much more detailed and after you use that kind of detail its hard to use a plotter that does not have it. Good luck.
