We are in the process of refurbishing the cabin of our 89 300 Weekender and the First Mate has decided the original Little Litton microwave has got to go.

I have looked at how to remove it and have removed the two small screws along the bottom front flange, and although I can move it somewhat something seems to be holding it.

I do not want to make a mess and would appreciate any input available.

Also any suggestions on a replacement would be great as well. I wish to use the existing opening with the end result looking as professional as possible.

Thanks
Ken

Did you end up finding a microwave that fits? I have been having a heck of a time finding a replacement that fits in the space.

While my boat is a bit newer and different model, 2000 310da, I am also looking to replace my microwave. As far as removing it, if yours is anything like mine, I found additional screws holding it in in the rear. It took some hunting but once removed, the unit slides out. I may end up enlarging the opening because I cannot find one that is only 9" high. Please post if you do.

Unfortunately, this was a long time ago, and we no longer own the boat. From what I can recollect, I did find another 700 watt unit, it may have been at Canadian Tire and I did have to enlarge the opening somewhat . However the enlarged opening still left a small relief around the microwave and it did look good.
Sorry I am not offering a very good response but age does funny things to the grey matter.
