Replacing Lofrans Progress 1 with Lewmar Pro 1000

I'm sick of always fighting with the progress 1. We've replaced the finger and stud/spring once already and again its bent. I'm going to be putting on a Lewmar Pro 1000 and new chain/rode. I've had great luck with the pro 1000 I put on my last boat.

Anyone in the Georgian Bay area want the progress 1 for parts? It works, but a PITA as I'm sure you're aware.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but interested in the issue. I also have a Progress One and was thinking of a Loot and Project 1000 as a replacement. I have heard that it is a drop-in replacement except one hole requires enlargement. What is the story with the Leak at. Is it an easy swap?

No leak, its just old and unreliable. I'm going with the horizontal model, and not the vertical to save some locker space. I'll probably do the same as my last boat and mount it to a piece of starboard on the deck over the original mounting location.
