Forgive my ignorance, but technically, I'm just the first mate and am doing my best to learn all of this stuff.

We have the above genny on our 2003 380DA and over the past year, although we run the heck out of the generator, we havent had to replace the impeller, until tonight after we smoked it.

I have the spare impeller in the sea spares kit, and I have all the diagrams and instructions, but I'm still not sure where the access panel is for the pump or how exactly I replace the impeller.....

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks:smt100

if looking at the front of the genny it is to the right, or on the aft side. just follow the hose from the seastrainer and it will go right to it. you will need a 7/16 wrench or socket to remove 4 bolts on the cover. There might be a small cover hiding pump, but it will pull off by hand.

If you remove 3 and loosen the 4th, you can usually swing the plate out of the way and have it pre-aligned for replacement. Lube the impeller. Compress the vanes in the same direction as the one you remove so they are pre-aligned for proper rotation as you re-insert it.
