Has anyone had to replace the ice maker on their u-line icemaker in the cockpit. I purchased the ice maker repair kit but need to pull the entire unit out from under the helm seat. Taking out the screws on the face plate only allow the entire unit to be pulled out a couple of inches. There doesn't appear to be an easy access panel to the back of the ice maker. Does the wall by the trash container by the helm seat come out or is there another option to access the back of the ice maker?

I faced the same issue on my 85 340. I also removed all the screws, etc., and the device pulled out maybe an inch. I'm pretty certain it's the water/drain lines behind it. I haven't tried again as my boat is in drydock. There should be a white 1" PVC pipe that is the drain line, and I don't know where the water line is. Please post if you resolve the problem.

My '02 Dancer's ice maker pulls right out for service. A bit of a PITA but it does come out. Cord and supply line are long enough to access and disconnect them. I repaired the mechanism then the refrigeration quit. It's dead to me now.

Might be a bit late with the response, but the ice maker should come out with a bit of wiggling. I have a 97 330EC and pulled mine last week to ensure there was clearance for a subwoofer install.

On mine there were 4 pan head screws holding it in place. The panel that holds the trash can can’t be removed from the cabinet side. There is a bracket for the set that is through bolted through it. The ice maker needs to be pulled out to remove that panel. (Unless things have changed dramatically in the later 340AJs).
