So I've begun to notice several of the hoses in my engine compartment are showing small cracks. When I say hoses I'm referring to water lines from the strainers to the engines, AC, generator, etc.

How long should should they last? My boat is 5 years old.
I'll be storing on last this winter and I'm thinking of having my dealer replace all of the hoses I've identified to have cracks. It's something I could do as well, but parts wise it's not that expensive.

Any thoughts?

I went through this 2 years ago. I found the best way to do this is remove the hose and bring it to West Marine. They will sell you ONLY! the size you need. No waste.

I've replaced that fuel fill lines and the genny and a/c hoses. My girl's an '09 so a year older than yours... sounds like 5-6 years is the norm! I also went to WM for the water hoses and they sell by the foot so its convenient that way. The fuel lines were replaced prior to closing so the dealer did that work.

Excellent. Thanks for the input. Sounds like I have a good winter task.

I just replaced my fuel fill and vent hoses on my 89 300 and they were original! Had 1988 printed on them. They were still in decent shape. Hoses should last more than a few years.
