Just bought her, and she's 29 yrs old this year, so I imagine this will be the first of several requests for help....

So, the pump that provides water to the galley sink, head toilet, sink and shower, and master state sink decided to retire on our first weekend of ownership. Of course this was directly after refilling the water tank. So here are the questions:

Which pump will be best for replacing the original? Can't tell without removing what it is / what the ratings are.
The pump I researched is a Shurflow model 5901-0201.

Is this sufficient / overkill??? They are proud of this one, and don't want more than i need...

Is the full tank going to pose a problem? The admiral is going to throw me overboard if I flood her carpet...

Any help deeply appreciated,
Texun

Nice pump, but I think I would get one that shuts off at 40-45 psi though. That is what most of the plumbing on your boat is geared for. I use a Par Max-4 (4 GPM @40-45psi) and it is the perfect size for my 340. (Very similar boat to yours).

I have a 1994 370 EC and am in the process of replacing my pump this week. The old pump was a 2.8 gpm Shur-flo. I am replacing with a 3.0 gpm at a cost of about $130 from WM. I don't need the extra capacity of the 5.0 gpm, since I only have one head. I am not sure my 1/2 inch line would supply that much anyway. I found an inline shutoff back by my water tank. Good luck.

I installed an Aqua King Standard Pump 3.0 GPM rated at 45PSi. The pump and tank are under my bed so I wanted something quiet. I can barely hear this one and it works great. I get a full pressure shower out of it just like at home.

Wow... Thanks for the quick reply guys.

I should be able to get this thing ordered and delivered in time to install this weekend!

Thanks TOBNPR!!! That is actually the pump I am getting. WM has the best price I find after considering shipping and all..

And GORGEOUS boat!!! Why the world would you want to sell her?

Differences between regular and smart sensor pumps? Can't seem to find anything from a Google search.

Make sure the pump is bad. Sometimes after refilling the tank air will lock it down. Take a screwdriver or something and bump the pump. They will airlock and act like they are burned out.

The smart sensor pumps are variable speed; they "sense" the amount of water being demanded and regulate the pump's speed accordingly. In contrast, a pressure pump will pump at it's full regulated capacity, until the pressure switch shuts it off. Usually, this results in a lot of cycling- unless the faucet(s) are wide open. So, they do eliminate that annoying cycling. But at least in my experience they don't last.

Maybe others have had a different experience...
