Replacing benches

I am currently doing some work on my '87 34' Sundancer and want to replace the helm bench. Thinking about a captain chair style. Has anyone done anything like this before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am also thinking of doing this on my 1989 300 da. I saw this while I was looking to purchase a used Sea Ray last fall. I think it was in Wisconsin. A guy had pics of his 280 and he had replaced the helm bench with two swivel seats and added a padded bench on the top of the aft cabin. I would be interested in knowing if anyone else saw this boat or has modified thier boat the same way.
