Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement unit? It's a Black box so, I want to keep the same form factor for a professional fit and look.

Thanks

I replaced my NS100 with an ICOM M400BB last year. It's a black box unit, and the least expensive one I found on the market. The installation was almost plug and play. IIRC, the I had to enlarge the hole for the mic connection.

The only drawback I found is that it does not have an external speaker like the NS100, and I couldn't find a suitable replacement. I ended up leaving the NS100 speaker in place with the wires disconnected.

Thanks. I saw that one before but wasn't sure how easily it would fit.

The ICOM can be connected to the Northstar speaker it has a auxiliary speaker output. I hooked it up to the 2 Northstar speaker wires. You may need to call Icom as I recall the instructions on this were not correct.

Thanks for the info. I looked at both the Raymarine 260 and the ICOM 400 BB. Much better deal on the ICOM and rebates as well.
The cost of the Raymarine was more than twice@ $620 and it was on back order. Thats a red flag as that units been around since 2013 and likely its being discontinued. Folks who buy it will find themselves in a similar situation as those that have the Nortstar.

I was told Searay purchased and installed a large amount of the Northstars in 2008/09 and the next year Northstar sold the company and killed the product. I guess Searay got a great deal and the consumers ended up paying for it.
