I have a 2005 Sundancer 260. My transducer no longer works (flashes 0 ft depth). Dealer told me they can no longer get replacement part # 1754589 Techsonic transducer. What are my options? I'd like to simply replace it without having to buy one to connect to a new GPS unit (my current Garmin is not sonar capable). Any suggestions?

Contact the people ar AIRMAR. They make about 80% of the transducers sold anyway so I bet they have one that will work for you.
Here is the reply from Airmar: "For Smartcraft product you will need to contact Mercury or a Mercury dealer as they would be able to assist you in finding a replacement if one exists. We do not have a reference of compatible parts for Mercury as they are an OEM."

If your Garmin is NMEA 2000 or NMEA 183 capable you can get a NMEA tranducer. You only need deeph. Your Garmin is not fishfinder capable but you can feed data thru the NMEA network. Call a good electronic shop like BOE Marine. They'll help you. Worst case you can get a deeph display with a new tranducer like the Lawrance LST-3800 or Norcross D10D.

My friends SR 206 had the same failure; she ended up having to replace the complete system as the transducer was no longer available. Hummingbird and Faria make both transom mount and through hull transducers with the 2 inch instrument for the dash. The pricing ranges from 90 to 150.... You may also want to consider a Raymarine i40 with suitable transducer if it will fit; very cost effective with pricing around 500 complete.
