replacement manifolds

I am re- powering a 330 dancer, and have to replace the exaust manifolds,looking for advise as to weather or not I should purchace after market or buy mercruser originals, aluminum manifolds sounds attractive because of weight.
 
I think you'll find that the general consensus here is that Aluminum, Steel, water and heat do not belong in the same spot depending on each other.
You'll also find that OEM is the preferred replacement over after market parts, but everyone's mileage varies quite a bit. Really depends on how you use your engines.
 
I think the aftermarket ones produced in North America {ie not china} are ok. Most manifolds don't fail, the riser gaskets are the place failures happen. Renew them every 3 years or so and no problems...

ps i agree NO aluminum.....
